If you still have to complete your annual Anti-Money Laundering training for Ontario, the deadline is March 31st!

According to the requirements set by the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and its associated regulations, an AML Compliance Program needs to incorporate ongoing training sessions for staff members. The purpose of this training is to enhance Operators with better understandings of the regulatory duties, AML procedures, and the implemented controls, while also outlining Operators’ roles in detecting and preventing activities related to Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.

Here are some reminders:

  • All employees involved in AML/ATF-related activities, including Senior Management (with roles outlined in your AML policies and procedures), are required to complete the iGO 2024 AML/ATF Training by March 31, 2024.
  • An assessment with a minimum passing score of 80% is mandatory. Record of successful completion, including the assessment results, must be shown for each employee and made available if requested.
  • Operators can use their own training module as long as it incorporates and utilises the iGO AML/ATF training content, specifically Canadian AML/ATF regulatory requirements, at a minimum.
  • Upon completion of the training, an attestation must be sent over to confirm that all employees required to take this training have done it. This attestation must be submitted to iGO no later than April 12, 2024. It is crucial that all necessary employees complete this training module by the specified deadline to ensure that AML/ATF compliance standards are met.

Understanding the responsibilities that both individuals and businesses should have in order to identify instances of money laundering and terrorist financing along with how to prevent them is the main goal of this training. Learning the obligations when it comes to reporting and recording these instances is also imperative.

iGaming Academy has a partnership with the Canadian Gaming Authority (CGA) that brings vital Canadian-specific eLearning courses and services to the market. Together we bring our online training capabilities and experience with their Canadian network, market expertise, and insight.

UNLV In Collaboration With iGaming Academy Launches A New Training Program: ElevateRG https://www.manufacturer-exporters.com/unlv-in-collaboration-with-igaming-academy-launches-a-new-training-program-elevaterg/ Tue, 22 Mar 2022 17:07:02 +0000 https://www.manufacturer-exporters.com/?p=11472 The post UNLV In Collaboration With iGaming Academy Launches A New Training Program: ElevateRG appeared first on iGaming Academy.

UNLV’s International Gaming Institute (IGI) and iGaming Academy have collaborated to introduce “ElevateRG”.? This will bring UNLV’s flagship responsible gaming curriculum online for the first time.

IGI, world-renowned as the “global intellectual capital of gaming” is launching ElevateRG an online training program that will take its responsible gaming training to the next level.

The new ElevateRG training program will bring IGI’s world-renowned responsible gaming (RG) training to gaming industry staff and learners across the US and worldwide. The first course, now available, is fully interactive, providing a uniquely engaging learning experience that can be accessed from any location.

What makes this training unique?

The development of the ElevateRG, online training program has been overseen by UNLV’s Jennifer Shatley, a highly-respected RG leader with 25 years’ career experience, notably with Caesars Entertainment.

“What sets our RG training apart is how operationally-focused it is,” explains Shatley. “Gaming staff deserve better than just a brief overview of the risks. Our training demonstrates the practical actions that gaming staff can take within their roles to proactively promote responsible gaming to minimize gambling-related harm.

ElevateRG is designed to prepare staff and equip learners with both the broad knowledge and the practical experience required to tackle real-life situations that may arise over the course of their day-to-day working practices.

In addition to RG, UNLV and iGaming Academy plan to launch a full range of vocational and industry-specific training courses to help address the current unprecedented demand for staff resources across the US industry, covering land-based, online sportsbooks, and other gaming categories.

Convenience and accessibility

“For land-based casinos, IGI has long represented the ‘gold standard’ in RG training – and now it’s easier than ever to supply for staff,” said Jaime Debono, iGaming Academy’s Managing Director.

“As the online industry continues to expand, operators will benefit from having access to best-in-class training in an online format that’s easy to include within their onboarding and refresher programmes.”

Scalable to all levels of experience

The ElevateRG training program will be available in a new online format and will include numerous courses designed to cover responsible gaming across all levels, from a comprehensive introduction for front-line staff to managers and leadership versions. Refresher training variants will also be available.

Senior staff will soon also be able to achieve IGI’s prestigious Ambassador Certification as part of a blended program that combines both online and classroom-based learning.

Why do you need this training?

Regulatory scrutiny on online operators is widely expected to increase as the market grows. It will be increasingly important for operators to demonstrate a commitment to responsible gaming, provable via strong training programs with recognized certification.

“With the specificity, convenience, and scalability of this training well ahead of anything available in the market, this truly is a ‘game-changer’ for responsible gaming training in the US,” said Debono.

Gambling In Spain – Passion or Obsession? https://www.manufacturer-exporters.com/gambling-in-spain-passion-or-obsession/ Thu, 10 Mar 2022 15:57:54 +0000 https://www.manufacturer-exporters.com/?p=11376 The post Gambling In Spain – Passion or Obsession? appeared first on iGaming Academy.

The Spanish are a nation of brave, passionate, adventurous people. The Spanish gamble more than most of their European neighbours. According to recent research, in 2020-2021 the percentage of the Spanish population that participated in gambling activities was the highest in Europe, with a total of 65.9% of men and 61.2% of women. On the other hand, only 9.1% of the men surveyed gambled online and only 4.2% of women did.

The latest estimates show the Spanish gamble well over €1.9 billion a year, which divided by population is around €480 per person, or approximately 15% of the average net household income. Lotteries, football and racing pools, bingo, slot machines, online casino games and the big jai-alai games are among the most popular products the Spanish choose.

Spanish passion for gambling could easily grow into an unhealthy obsession on the national level, if not for the strict market regulation and problem gambling prevention measures. The gambling regulatory environment in Spain includes problem gambling prevention as a section of social responsibility for operators. One of the requirements for operators is to comply with all the?legal and technical requirements?established by the law, including Royal Decrees, Ministerial Orders and Resolutions of the Directorate General for the Regulation on Gambling, to guarantee?safe gambling.

Operators must offer all players responsible gaming tools to restrict their participation in games or self-exclude. Some of the tools are mandatory and consistent for all providers, while others are made available to all players but are not mandatory for a player to set. Additionally, the DGOJ has been developing?various advertising co-regulation agreements??and is working on the development of a future regulation on advertising and responsible gaming with the basic purpose of protecting customers, especially minors and other vulnerable people.

Apart from social responsibility, operators must comply with the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing and the Spanish Criminal Code to keep the financial crime out of gambling. Strong due diligence rules, transparent payment options and transaction monitoring procedures are the main measures of customer protection.

iGaming Academy is now offering Anti-Money Laundering and Responsible Gambling training tailored specifically for the Spanish market.

Senior Content Manager

As a trainer who has worked in education for nearly a decade, I’m always hesitant about sitting for new courses. Working in training has taken away from my experience as a learner. Mostly because I genuinely enjoy creating and delivering content, so much so that my training expectations have become quite high.

Prioritising my own learning and development is important to me; the mind is a muscle and it’s important to keep it active. So, knowing this, I pushed myself and I registered for iGaming Academy’s virtual training on Responsible Gaming delivered by Maris Catania.

The sessions took place over 2 days, starting at 4.30pm and finishing just shy of 8pm. Putting work tasks on hold was challenging, especially when my workload is demanding, and I didn’t decide without some hesitation. In the end I just suppressed those nagging thoughts and went for it!

Sticking to social distancing rules, I attended the virtual classroom which meant that travel time and parking stress were inexistent. All I needed was my (average) internet connection, my laptop, and a strong cup of coffee. I did miss the cookies we would have been offered in a physical classroom, otherwise, a virtual set up helped me ease into the idea of meeting new people again, after long months of working remotely.

The course was surprisingly refreshing and got me thinking of the benefits that this set up offers. Here are my top 6 benefits for virtual classrooms from what I’ve experienced:

  1. It gave me a very different perspective to a topic which I was already familiar with.
  2. The level of detail is dependent on the needs of the group as the training progresses.
  3. Training sessions were captivating and dynamic; our trainer led activities challenged me to think of the scenarios presented to the group.
  4. The live course allowed us to interact by asking questions, share experiences, and discuss best practice.
  5. The virtual classroom enabled us to network with industry professionals, an activity which boosts our own profile and gets our names out there.
  6. Finally, by keeping up to date with industry trends, we as learners stay relevant and retain our value in this business sector.

Continuous learning requires self-motivation and persistence to develop new competencies. Ultimately it is a necessary exercise to expand our skillset, especially in such a fast-paced industry, all in an effort to avoid stagnation and develop new opportunities. This will help you gain more confidence and inspire new ideas in your team and business. But don’t take my word for it, because of course, I’m biased, so why don’t you register for a course yourself.

Here is a list of all the virtual classrooms we offer. We have limited availability left for our next two virtual masterclasses, which are the:
